Before you come in

What to bring to a notary appointment

  • 01

    Valid government photo ID — a passport, driver's licence or provincial photo card. It must not be expired.

  • 02

    The document itself, every page, exactly as it is going to be signed.

  • 03

    Do not sign it beforehand. A notary has to witness your signature, so the signing happens in front of me.

  • 04

    Anyone else who has to sign. Each signer needs to be there in person, with their own photo ID.
